چکیده

This paper presents a new fractional-order proportional-integral, (PI)λ (FO[PI]) type structure to investigate the load frequency control (LFC) problem. In literature, some controllers’ extensive tuning options may slow or complicate optimization process. Due intricacy of tuning, even if there are fewer parameters, robust can be obtained. The deviates from standard FOPI, integer PID, PI-PD controllers with same parameters. efficacy tri-parametric controller is examined on two-area interconnected hybrid power system comprising photovoltaic (PV) grid and Reheated Thermal Generator (RTG). order obtain optimal performance lower efforts, novel dual-performance index developed for LFC Various analyses also proven perform better than other optimized recent literature. presented scheme significantly disturbance interruptions, non-linearities, parameter perturbations. It observed that no stability issues due communication time delays. highlighted improvement obtained without adding complex

Optimal Fractional Order Proportional Integral Controller for Varying Time-Delay Systems

In many industrial processes, the first order plus time delay (FOPDT) is still being widely used. FOPDT systems are also called “KLT systems (gain, delay, and time constant).” Considering uncertainties in the time delay, this paper attempts to answer this research question: “Will a fractional order controller help and do better?” In this paper, we first focus on fractional order proportional an...

Practical Tuning of Fractional Order Proportional and Integral Controller (i): Tuning Rule Development

This paper presents a new practical tuning method for fractional order proportional and integral controller (FO-PI). The plant to be controlled is mainly FOPDT (first order plus delay time). The tuning is optimum in the sense that the load disturbance rejection is optimized yet with a constraint on the maximum or peak sensitivity. We generalized MIGO (Ms constrained integral gain optimization) ...

Robust Fractional Order Proportional, Integral and Derivative Stabilizer for Power Systems

This paper focuses on the application of a robust Fractional Order PID (FOPID) stabilizer tuned by Genetic Algorithm (GA). The system’s robustness is assured through the application of Kharitonov’s theorem to overcome the effect of system parameter’s changes within upper and lower limits. The FOPID stabilizer has been approximatedduring the optimization using the Oustaloup’s approximation for f...

Piezoelectric, solar and thermal energy harvesting for hybrid low-power generator systems with thin-film batteries

The harvesting of ambient energy to power small electronic components has received tremendous attention over the last decade. The research goal in this field is to enable self-powered electronic components for use particularly in wireless sensing and measurement applications. Thermal energy due to temperature gradients, solar energy and ambient vibrations constitute some of the major sources of...

Designing a Fractional Order PID Controller for a Two-Area Micro-Grid under Uncertainty of Parameters

Increasing the number of microgrids has raised the complexity and nonlinearity of the power system and conventional controllers do not present acceptable efficiency in a wide range of operation points. In this study, a fractional order proportional–integral–derivative controller optimized with hybrid grey wolf-pattern search algorithm is used to control the frequency of each area of the microgr...
